I was looking through my facebook page and saw the link for this blog.  I can't believe how long it has been since I posted!  My profile info is VERY out of date.  We now have 2 grandbabies, Carson is 3 and a half and Jackson is 15 months old.
Daddy isn't doing very well.  Right now he has an upper respiratory infection.  He's had hospice since March of this year.  They have been a lifesaver.  Mom is doing well.  We try to give her some time to herself since her days are pretty much spent taking care of Daddy.
Our family has grown a lot since my last post.  Lindsay has 4 kiddos now- the triplets, Hudson, Carter and Ella are almost 6 and Charlie is almost 4.  Arin and his wife (he got married in 2011) are expecting their first baby, a girl they have named Tahlula Grace, is due anytime now.  Cole has a son, Cody, who just turned 2.  Victoria and her husband Jacob (they got married last year too) are expecting their first child in May of 2013.  The biggest surprise in the great-grandbaby generation is Edie.  Last December I got an email from a woman who was looking for Corey's relatives.  She is the adoptive mom to the baby Corey and his girlfriend had when they were only 15.  It wasn't something we talked about, but wasn't a big secret either. Anyway, needless to say, we were VERY excited to meet her.  Laurie and Scotty and wonderful parents and Edie has a sister, Dori, and a brother, Eric.  They live in Claremore.  She is a cheerleader for the freshman team.  She looks EXACTLY like Corey.
Clint is in private practice.  He loves it.  He is also doing stand up comedy.  I am the 'butt' of a lot of his routine, but I can take it.  Besides, life with me is pretty darn funny.
Ethan graduated last year.  He went to Bacone to play baseball but ended up needing knee surgery so he had the surgery and is at TCC this year.  I'm not sure if his knee can take the stress of collegiate level sports.  He is still dating Deana.  They've been together over 2 years.  She spoils him so we like her:)
Wyatt is working in a machine shop.  He has the boys here two nights a week and every other weekend.  He is a wonderful Daddy.  He and Ashlee aren't together, but are co-parenting well together.  Carson and Jackson remind me so much of Wyatt and Ethan.  Ashlee is a great mommy and the boys are really good kids.
I changed school districts.  This is my second year to teach for Jenks.  I LOVE IT!  I teach 3rd and 4th special education.  I've never worked harder, nor felt as satisfied as I have at Jenks.  They have a really awesome faculty and staff.  My principal is fantastic too.
I'll try to update more often.

Merry Christmas

Many things have happened since the last post. I'll try to be more consistent, but it is easier to Facebook:)
First bit of family news- Ashlee and Wyatt are expecting another baby! She's due July 31st. Should make for an interesting weekend, Arin is getting married July 30th. Victoria is engaged. His name is Jacob and he's a great guy. I think they plan a winter wedding (next year). Cole is a daddy- Philip Cody Dean Stephens was born September 20th. He's beautiful too:)
Carson will be 2 in March. He's the most brilliant and beautiful baby ever. Yes, I'm biased, but it is also a fact.
Daddy and Momma have both been in the hospital twice each since the middle of October. Mom has what is called 'drop attacks'- if she sits too long her blood doesn't circulate into her legs well enough. When she stood up to walk, down she goes, passing out. EEG and CT scans are clear. They adjusted meds and she seems to be better. Daddy had severe puking and dehydrated. They gave him 3 bags of IV fluids both trips. The good thing about the first trip to Hillcrest was they did all the heart tests on him. He's in pretty good shape there. He takes stomach meds now and his appetite is finally improving.
Zoey started pre-k. She's the smartest kid in the class. (really) The triplets are 4 and Baby Charlie is 2. They go to preschool too. They are keeping in the Johnson greatgrandkid tradition of also being the smartest kids in their class.
Beth has been busy making quilts. She should enter them in contests or something. They are gorgeous. She made Clint and me pairs of cashmere socks to wear when we are on the bike. Cashmere is about the warmest thing you can put on your body. I haven't gotten to ride lately- we haven't made many of the Southern Cruiser rides because of other things we've had to accomplish. Clint and Wyatt got the garage cleaned out (with help from Ethan, Jordan and me) and have taken the Honda 550 Four apart. Now they just need to put it back together!
Leann is loving being a Mimi. Jan is enjoying having some time to herself since Zoey started school.
More later-

Rain Rain Go Away!

Baseball season is in full swing. Ethan is pitching for varisty. He's got a mean change up. I'm not sure if that is the ptich he calls his 'dirty pitch' or not, but after a couple weeks of not getting to pitch much, he pitched Friday day and did awesome. He closed out the game with 2 innings. First inning he had 4 pitches, 3 outs. Last inning he threw a few more, but still did awesome. This pic is of Wyatt & Carson watching baseball on TV. Hopefulle Uncle E will be on there someday!
Ashlee passed her national board test. I hate to say it but I'm not sure if she's a dental assistant or dental hygenist. Anyway, she's working days and Wyatt stays home with Carson. Then, Wyatt is umpiring baseball and mowing yards in the evenings. They are really doing well.
We only have about 5 weeks of school left. Thank the Lord! I love my kids and working with Misty and Michelle, but I'm ready for a break.
My garage is STILL in horrific shape and so is the yard. I'm ready to have a huge garage sale and get rid of nearly EVERYTHING.
Clint bought a Harley. He's loving it! It isn't quite a comfortable for me as the GoldWing, but I'm adjusting. He has an agreement with a friend from church to buy another Harley. This one is a Heritage Softail. If you don't know much about Harley's (I'm learning every day) this one is a little bigger with a bigger backseat. Yea! Clint has admired (I hate to use the word covet) this bike since Mike bought it new in 1990. So, we'll be a 2 Harley family. I'm going to get my motorcycle endorsement and see if I like riding. I think I'll be too nervous to enjoy it, but I'm going to try.
Clint has a blog called the Zen and the Art of motorcycle living. http://www.retrowinger.blogspot.com/
Check it out:)

No Way!

I just signed on to update and can't believe it has been since November that I posted. Holy Moly! Time has gone so fast! We've had Christmas & Carson's birthday, plus I got a new car and Clint got a Harley. Clint has started a blog called Zen and the ARt of Motorcycle Living (I think that's the name) so I thought I'd use this blog as my one outlet for thoughts. I've given the sisters instructions on how to log on, but so far I'm the only one that does, even though I'm not very consistent. Maybe since I'm going to share thoughts I will take time to post more often.
I finally got a convertible!!! Clint & I bought a car for my 44th birthday. It has already made me smile. The other day I was jamming to Kid Rock (edited version) and had my hair in a pony tail, head bopping with the music. A group of teenage boys honked and hollered until they realized it was someone their mom's age, AND they were in a car just like mine! I have a sapphire blue with tan leather interior Sebring. I'm loving the sunshine on my face, although I could do without the wind in my hair. If you have a suggestion for keeping my hair from being totally wrecked & tangled, please let me know. i have been putting it up in a pony tail, but that is getting old. I bought a hat, but half the time it almost flies off.
School is almost out for the summer. HooYaa! Only 38 more school days. I'm ready to get to stay at home. I have tons of 'honey-do' things that I'm the honey of. The garage is a pit, so is the pantry and laundry room. We are home enought to mess up, but not enough to clean up

Happy Halloween!

I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted. Wyatt and Ashlee brought Carson by to see us. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Carson was growling:)

New Pictures (Finally!)

This was last week. He's almost 6 months old and trying to crawl. Once he's mobile, we won't be able to stop him!
Carson Cole and Papa Wing. That's what I've decided he's going to call Clint since he rides a Goldwing now.
Carson loves being (almost) naked:)
Nanna and Carson Cole. (My arms are evenly tanned even though it doesn't look like it in this pic)

So long summer

Well, I had no idea it had been so long since I'd posted. July went by really fast. Leann and I both worked assessed national board certification candidate entries. This month has gone fast too. I start back to school Monday with the kids coming Thursday. Ethan went back yesterday. I'm not sure when Stillwater starts. Leann is at school so much I have no idea when she actually is suppose to be there.
Ethan is a Junior this year. More later, Lance is barking the house down.

God is Powerful!

Well, we had a scare last week. Clint had meetings in OKC so I went with him. I left earlier than he did because I had the car and he had the Gold Wing, so when I checked out of the hotel, I just headed home. On Clint's way home as he exited from one highway to another, his right arm wouldn't 'work'. He thought maybe it had fallen asleep, but he was going 75 mph so it was frightening. He managed to get the bike stopped and waited until it passed. He gets home and tells me about it. Not 15 minutes later, he has another episode, this time I can see what is going on. The right side of his face is drooping and he can't stick his tongue out straight. He's also slurring his words. Well, I was with Mom when she had her stroke so I knew what was going on, except what 38 year old has a stroke? I took him to the ER and not 20 minutes after we got there, it happened again so the docs could see for themselves what was going on. Clint was admitted and they did a long list of tests. The CT scan and EKG in the ER were fine. The MRI showed where he had bled in his brain confirming a stroke. The doc said it was genetic since he's so young. His cholesterol and blood pressure are a little high, but not enough to cause a stroke. He had plaque in his brain that broke loose. Anyway, THERE IS NO PERMANENT DAMAGE as far as they can tell. He has medications that will regulate everything. We know there were a lot of people praying for him and believe God healed the area of the brain where he bled.
Being as he's a workaholic, he went to work yesterday. Yes, 12 hours after getting out of the hospital he's at work. He only worked 1/2 day, and today 3/4 of a day. He can't drive yet so I'm being chauffeur. He isn't suppose to be on the bike for 3-6 months. Yah, we'll see who wins this one:)
Carson is growing and getting more brilliant every day. I'll post more pics as soon as I remember to get my camera out of Ashlee's car.

New Pics of the Man

Since I bought my camera, I've really used it a lot. Here are some new pics of Carson Cole.

Monday, June 8, 2009

The family get together was awesome! We were there by about 5:30 and didn't eat until after 7:30. Phil and Cole grilled chicken, shrimp, veggies and pineapple. You know you have a great family when you can sit around talking and not realize how much time has gone by. Jan's house and backyard are wonderful for entertaining so we can spread out and visit. Clint watched Phil work and was REALLY wanting to help, but didn't want to get in the way.
Carson was very patient with everyone passing him around. I think the only family that didn't hold him was Clint and Arin:) Neither one of them are 'baby' people. Clint holds him some, but he'd rather just talk to him while someone else holds:) Ashlee, Wyatt and Carson got a lot of presents. I bought a pair of tiny flip flops. They are the cutest things you've ever seen.
We also celebrated Mom's 77th birthday. She can run circles around me. Her and Daddy make me tired most of the time. All of the boy's friends call them Grandma and Grandpa. Can't get any more blessed than have parents EVERYONE loves!

Party, party, party

We are going to have Mom's 77th birthday and a baby shower for Carson at Jan's tomorrow. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Ethan is busy playing basketball. He opted to not play baseball this summer. I'm actually glad. Basketball is inside and baseball gets HOT by the time the season ends. After all, Ethan should think about me when he makes these decisions:) Ha Ha!
The triplets & Charlie got tubes in their ears. They are all doing well. Lindsay is suppose to be here next week so we'll have to visit and take pictures.
Victoria is still having physical therapy on her shoulder. I'm glad (knock on wood) that I haven't had any major injuries. I know it hurts every time she has to go. She can't work with her kids and I know she misses them. Keep her in your prayers.
The boy's dad had rotator cuff surgery. He's in physical therapy too. He's out for about 4 months. At least he picked the hottest time of the year to NOT put on 20 pounds of gear and go into a burning house.
Wyatt and Ashlee (and Carson) are doing great. She is going to work at White House/Black Marget in Utica Square. I looked at the website. Very expensive. Too much for my teacher's salary but VERY nice clothing and shoes.
Clint is really busy at work. He had a client they referred to him (not through the homeless shelter) but because she is deaf. He really enjoyed getting to use his signing skills and realized how rusty he's gotten. Ethan took sign 1 this year and is taking sign 2 next year. I'm not sure I want them to be able to talk and me not understand what they are saying.
I'll post pictures of the party soon. SUMMER HAS STARTED!!!!!

Almost summertime!

Well, I have today and then Monday and Tuesday left with my students. Sapulpa gets out after EVERYONE else. Ethan's last day is today. I'm ready for summer break. This year has been really awesome. I learned a lot and I'm ready to have a break and then start back armed with all the new ideas for next year. I'll start the year off differently than last year since this year I have a clue about what I'm doing:)
I have new pictures which is the real reason for the post!

Proofread???? What is that?

I guess I should proofread before I hit publish post. Ashlee posted the pictures on her facebook page, not a blog. And since I posted again, I'll include more pics!

HOT HOT HOT

I can't believe how HOT it has been the past few days! Clint is in Denver for a retreat with some people from church. They are involved in Dry Bones, a ministry that helps homeless youth in the Denver area, so they invited Clint to go with them. He met yesterday with the attorney for their homeless population and exchanged information about what they do. When I talked to him last night, it was 'cool' so I probably would have been freezing. The lows were suppose to be in the upper 30's. He'll be home Sunday and it won't be a minute too soon. I'm glad he got to go, but I HATE when we are apart.
I downloaded some new pictures of Carson that Ashlee had posted on her blog. Clint took our camera with him so I can't upload any that I have taken. He will be 7 weeks old Sunday! Ashlee and Wyatt have 'date night' on Fridays so I get to keep him. Makes my entire week!!!!
Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Things are NUTS around here. The end of the school year always is.......

Mississippi is a long way away

Well, we just got home (yes, it is 5:30 in the morning) from a trip to Oxford. It started with a singing in Little Rock on Saturday night. Clint and several members of the Garnett praise team went to sing at Jerome's church (former praise and worship minister at Garnett). There were several other groups there too. The group called Purpose was fantastic! We are definitely going to get a CD of them. Then, after the singing, we went on to Oxford. We pulled in about 1:30 or so. Clint and I slept in and then went to lunch with Uncle David, Aunt Carolyn and Lelia. The guy who started McAlister's Deli has a place there. Right now I'm too tired to remember the name of it (it is not McAlisters). We saw MamaKin at the Care Center. She looks about the same, but really didn't seem very responsive. It was a huge shock from the last time I saw her before she fell. She finally recognized Lelia and Clint, but I don't think she figured out who I was.
On the way to Little Rock, we stopped by to see my family from Mountainburg. They were having a yard sale in Butch's company parking lot. He showed Clint and Lelia his office that looks like a wildlife museum. I can say that I have actually seen a javalina. Of course, it was dead and stuffed, but it counts. I'm looking forward to the family reunion in June.
I have new pictures of Carson Cole, but don't have them downloaded yet and I'm too tired right now. Maybe later today.

Maybe someday I'll figure this out

I need a tutorial about how to create a cute blog and post more than one photo. So, here goes the picture of Carson Cole that I want to put on the last post.

Headed Out Again

Clint and I are headed to Little Rock on Saturday and then on to Oxford Saturday night. The former Praise & Worship minister, Jerome, is having a praise 'thing?' on Saturday night and asked some of the members to come and sing at his church. Since we are more than half way to Oxford, we are going to go after the singing is over and spend time with Clint's Uncle David and MamaKin. She'll be 103 in May and has recovered well from her fall back at Christmas time. We are going to stop in Mountainburg on our way to LR and see my family. I have attached a picture of Carson and one of the Barron gang from Lindsay's blog.
Clint bought me a camera for my birthday. I haven't Carson Cole since Monday so I don't have any new pictures. I had a touch of the stomach crud that went around my class. No matter how much we wash our hands, we seem to catch almost EVERYTHING! I'm going to hopefully get to see him tomorrow before we leave so I can get lots of pictures to show off.

Spring Break News

Well, Ethan is in Florida with his best friend Jordan and family. I've talked to him a couple of times and he's having a great time. He's been gone a week and I'm REALLY ready for him to be home. I have no idea what I'm going to do when he goes to college and doesn't live at home (which is probably what will happen).
Wyatt, Ashlee and Carson Cole are doing fantastic. Carson needed to be under a 'grow light' for a few days. He had jaundice but is now out from under the light and even more perfect. He had lost 6 ounces but when they took him to the doctor yesterday, he was 7pounds 1 ounce so he's more than made up for it. He is sleeping well and is a good baby. Wyatt & Ashlee had an errand to run yesterday after the doctor visit so they stopped by and left him with me for about an hour. First time they've both left him so I felt VERY special! He ate and then slept the whole time he was here so of course I held him the entire time. He was in a St. Paddy's Day outfit and was absolutely adorable. I've already bought an Easter outfit for him. It is a casual one so he'll still need a church outfit.
Mom & Daddy came in to see Carson and have doctor appointments. Mom is having trouble with the rotator cuff in her right shoulder. Didn't stop her from holding the babies but she's in pain. They gave her a shot and will reevaluate when they get home for the summer. Daddy is doing well. At least the weather wasn't too cold while they were home. I look for them to come home for the summer the first of April. We went to John & Rhonda's and saw Lindsay, the triplets and baby Charlie Monday night. The triplets are getting so big. They are talking and we got a small dance 'show' while we were there. Baby Charlie is precious. I can say one thing about the Johnson great grandbabies (and grandkids): they are gorgeous babies. Beth and I met Mom, Daddy, Leann, Pequita & Alanis, and Jan and Zoey for lunch Monday. Zoey is an absolute hoot!
Well, more later. I'll try to keep up with news better than once a week.

More pics

Ok, I have figured out how to upload photos (I think anyway) so I'm going to add some more. If you get tired of looking, don't log on!
