Hotty Toddy!

We are leaving tomorrow for Dallas. We have friends that moved there a couple of months ago that we are going to visit and then see the Cotton Bowl on Friday. I hope Ole Miss brings the team that played Florida and Texas Tech brings their OU squad:) It will be fun regardless. We are meeting Clint's Uncle Lynn and cousin David so that makes it even better. I've never been to a bowl game so I'm really excited.
Lindsay took a ton of pictures at our family Christmas. As soon as I get copies, I'll post some. I finally figured out how to add pictures and hopefully can do it again. Leann and Mom had pictures that we downloaded to the computer upstairs. I didn't realize it was logged onto Wyatt's user name and changed user the next time I worked on it. Anyway, I don't know his password to get to his files to get to the pictures that I have on that computer so I can't add anymore yet. Make sense?
Leann now know how to add to the blog so she can add stuff about her gang. I still haven't got Jan and Beth on board yet. Whitney and Lindsay have a blog for their kids so you can keep up with them that way. Whitney's is: littlebrooksbee.blogspot.com and Lindsay's is barrontriplets.blogspot.com
They both have hilarious posts that make me laugh.

Christmas 2008

Mom and Daddy at family Christmas 2008. Aren't they the picture of what love and family is all about?
Thanks Mom and Dad for teaching us the true meaning of Christmas

Family Fun

We had our family Christmas at John and Rhonda's last night. Let me first say thanks to them for hosting. They have a new house with enough room for Lindsay and her crew when they are home to visit. Anyway, it is gorgeous! Most of us were there. Arin's girlfriend Savannah was there so we got to meet her. She didn't run out of the house screaming "God save me from crazy people" so I guess she thought we were normal enough. Cole had a friend(??) there named Skyler. I'm sure I didn't spell that right, but anyway, she also didn't run away screaming:) The triplet have gotten so big. I got to thinking, I think I've only seen them once since last year. That is really pitiful so I'm going to make more of an effort to see them when they are home for visits. Zoey was talkative as ever and enjoyed playing with 'my cousins'. Baby Charlie is precious. We, of course, fought over him. GreatGrandma held him a lot, no one had the heart to take him from her. I did get somewhat of a baby fix that probably won't tie me over until March. Hurry up, Carson Cole!
Wyatt has 4 of his best friends in from the Marine Corp so he went with them to a concert. They will only be together for a few more days until they have to go their separate ways. Andrew, Whitney's husband also wasn't there. Paul was working and couldn't be there either. I think everyone else was there, plus the Crabtree's. I don't remember a time that we haven't known them. They have been such a blessing to our family.
Clint still loves his new job. I'm enjoying my time off from school but will probably be ready to go back by next Monday. We are headed to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl (Go REBS) on Thursday. The game is Friday but we are meeting up with some friends on Thursday. Alex and Charles and baby Hunter. We had dinner with them last week and have really missed getting to see them since they moved.
Well, I'm off to a baby shower for Baby Carson.

Merry Christmas to all!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas. We had Wyatt, Ethan and one of our "3rd sons" on Christmas morning. Wyatt's buddy Brett is home from the Marine Corp for the holidays and spent Christmas morning with us. We didn't get up until 9:00 and then had brunch. Uncle David and Aunt Carolyn gave us a griddle thingy (I'm not the cook in the family) and Clint made pancakes, sausage and eggs. It was yummy. After that, I went back to bed and read/dozed until time to make cookies and dinner for us. We had Alfredo and garlic bread. Wyatt and Ethan had some friends over to eat with us, plus Mom and Daddy got home yesterday (hallelujah!) and Beth was here too. I made sugar cookies that were hopefully better than the cookies Brett gets in an MRE. Beth made two pies, both pecan, that were half gone when I got up this morning. I had left over cookies for breakfast b/c you can pick those up and eat them while taking the dogs out. Clint is such a good guy. I went to bad at 7:30 and he took care of the dogs until they got us up at 7:00 this morning. Then, I went back to bed and didn't get up until 10:00. I think this week finally caught up with me.
We had a water line break on Monday night. Or was is Sunday night? The days have run together. William the Plumber got it fixed, plus several other plumbing problems taken care of for us. He's coming back next week to finish EVERYTHING PLUMBING in the house. We won't know how to act with every toilet, sink and shower working like it should:)
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Please keep Clint's grandmother, MamaKin, and his Uncle David in your prayers. She fell last week and fractured her pelvis. She is in a long term care facility and seems to be doing very well. I fell when I was pregnant with Wyatt and had the same type of injury. I was 80 years younger than MamaKin and still had a hard time dealing with how painful it is. The doctor's aren't quite sure how to treat someone her age with this type of injury. Imagine that, she's only 102:)

I can't feel my toes!

Well, sometimes I amaze myself at how dumb I can be. I thought since the wind chill is 12 that if I just let Lance out, he would do his business and come right back in. Wrong. I just spent and hour trying to get him to come inside and so now I can't feel my toes OR my ears. I didn't think I would be outside that long so I didn't dress for it. Now that I'm inside I have my hat on. I also have on 2 pair of socks and my big furry slippers. I can see Lance through the window in the den. He's just walking along the perimeter of the deck. Twit. He's not that furry and I'm sure he's cold. Oh well, he'll eventually get cold enough or tired enough to come in.
The temperature between this morning and yesterday morning is a 60 degree swing. I think the cold might be easier to take if it slowly got colder.
We are out of school today. I'm wondering if it was as much for the horrifically cold temps as well as the roads. Clint said he really didn't have problems getting to work this morning. I'm happy for the day off. I got the game room tree up yesterday (it has an Ole Miss theme) and hope to get the living room tree up this morning. I have gifts to go under the tree so I should really get a tree to put them under.
Lance is whining at the back door. Maybe he'll actually come in this time:)

Oops

Apparently I don't know what I'm doing b/c I published with a sentence only half finished. Anyway, this past week has been crazy. Last Saturday, Clint comes home about 15 minutes after he left the house because he was having chest pains. He was a sickly gray color and his blood pressure was high. We went to St. Francis and he stayed 2 days while they ran tests. Since his Daddy died at age 34 of a massive heart attack, they really didn't want to send him home until they were sure it wasn't a heart attack. All of the tests showed that he has a healthy heart (Thank God) and the blood flows very well through his heart. The found a haital hernia that can cause esophageal spasms that mimic a heart attack. The doc told him no more spicy foods, caffeine, high fat foods and carbonated drinks. So, everything Clint likes to eat and drink. I told him that life as he knew it is over because he really scared me. We are going to join the YMCA and start trying to make changes to our lifestyle that we can stick to. I got to go to school Tuesday but started throwing up Tuesday night so I missed Wednesday. Then, I had the rest of the training in OKC on Thursday and Friday and drove back and forth each day. I'm ready for a normal week at school, but I'll have to wait until after the Christmas break because this is the last week before the break. Need I say more:)

Holiday Traffic and good parking karma

Clint and I did some Christmas shopping today. We left the house at noon and needed to be back by 3:00. I'm thinking we'd never get all of it done and as usual, if it crosses my brain it exits the mouth. Clint was convinced we could. So, first stop Walgreens, then the Dollar Tree. We went from there to a cigar store for cigar boxes (instead of gift bags) then to Secret Garden Candles (there is a new one at 81st and Harvard). Next was WalMart Neighborhood Market, True Value Hardware and finally the cleaners. We actually made it home at 2:55, just in time for me to eat a little crow. I hate it when I'm wrong and Clint is right. I'm sure it was because we got great parking places at all our stops and we didn't go anywhere near the mall:)
We went to the PSO Parade of Lights Christmas parade this evening. We went with Bert, Andrea and Mackyna. Before the parade, we met them at Joe Mamma's pizza for dinner. Wyatt, Ashlee, Ethan, Keaton & Adam (2 of the boys' friends) went with us to dinner. We had a good time. I'm so blessed that Wyatt and Ethan have a really good group of friends. They are really neat kids. One of Wyatt's buddies is going to spend Christmas with us. He's coming in on leave from the Marine Corp before he ships out to Afganistan in March.
I finished up a 4 day workshop on Autism. I really learned a lot. I had the stomach flu

Halleluah!

Well, Clint has a job. He took the job with the Homeless project here in Tulsa. He works with the homeless population mostly. He really likes it so far. He's on the 'green office' committee which is kind of funny since we only started recycling in the past year. Never too late to start:)
I had a workshop in OKC today. I've already learned a lot about autism and I have tomorrow and 2 days next week. I have an assistive technology workshop on Monday so I'm sure my head will exploded from all the knowledge:)
Ethan has a game tonight. I'm getting ready to leave. Clint is at the pottery studio and will meet me there. It is the weekly dinner at Beth's tonight. I think she's cooking chicken and dressing. It is really good. She made a cherry cobbler last night that I had to taste while I was there. I'm going to start calling her Paula Dean. But, since we are from Arkansas and it is in the south, I should just start calling her by her childhood name of CorBeth. That's actually Cora Beth to those not from AR.
I'm ready for Mom and Daddy to get home from Texas. It turned cold here so I'm glad Daddy is where it is warm, but I miss them.
I think I've figured out what I want Carson Cole to call me and Clint: Grammers and Grammpers. (teacher/grammar, get it?) Maybe if I have to explain it then it is too big a stretch. Anyway, I like it.
Got to go. Dinner is waiting......
